Years ago I had a squeal from the Camshaft Synchronizer and squirted some tranny fluid to quiet it down. It was only a short fix, but it did quiet it down for a little while. I can't remember how I did it and can't find my old posts. Can anybody shed some light on how to do this?

He mentions oil affecting the sensor, I don't see how. It's a hall effect sensor in there; it responds to the magnetic field as the tab on the synchronizer passes by.

At any rate I will say be careful about that after oiling mine she threw a code for the sensor. Replacing just the sensor fixed the code and even improved how she runs. I suspect the sensor was worn anyway and may not be related to oil, I mean it is like 25 years old and 200k miles.

I'd remove the sensor cap, then use a flushing syringe to squirt a bit of marvels mystery oil down the shaft. Let it seep while re assembling.

Never had a problem. Maybe if you absolutely flood it?
