cant find how to remove/replace rack and pinion

Driver side seal leak. Driver boot rotted. Got to change it out , looking for tutorial. Thanks yall

410Fortune had a writeup around here somewhere.
At least I think that's who it was...
will see if I can find it.

Not sure if engine matters, but on my V8 I had to loosen the driver's side engine mounts and lift the engine an inch or so to get enough room to pull it out.

That's for 4wd, but I imagine 2wd would be just about the same.

what about changing the seal?

Can I remove & replace the left boot and seal? or, how hard is that? Autozone haz a seal kit for $30. Is if practical to swap a seal?

possibly. You may have enough room to do that.
I cannot say for sure, though, as I don't have any experience with replacing just a seal.
