Is there anyway to change the keypad code. I know my current one but one of my friends thought it would be funny to watch me enter it and now I would like to change it. Anyone?

Get a new RAP module or change the resistor positions around on the module. Can you solder?

Do you want to change the perminant factory code or the code that can be reset?

I recently bought a 2001 Explorer Sport. I can't find the keypad code in the jack compartment. The box is yellow and not gray. Am I looking in the wrong place?

That's the right box, now find the sticker on it.

Nope you are looking in the right place its just way up in there - I use to reach in and grab the module pulling it towards the rear bending the bracket slightly, then take a flashlight and if you look at just the right angle you can read the code.

The yellow box is not a module, its a box that the left rear seat belt winds up into. I can't move it enough to see a code on it. I saw on another thread that the code is under the defrost grill on top of the dashboard? But I don't want to damage that grill trying to remove it.
This is a PITA!!! LOL I don't want to pay the dealership to put the truck on the computer just to get this code, and pay them friggin $65.00.

Yes, the '01 Sport's code is in a different spot. Can I remember where right now? Nope. Try using the search feature for "keyless entry sport", you will find a couple of threads about it.

I just would like to change the code that you type in on the outside, how do i do that?

Hm. Thought the yellow box was the module. Maybe in other years. Isn't there a master code? I think the manual tells you how to change the code. I remember some post saying you can only add codes, not change the factory one.

O ok, well I will check the manual on how to add a code, wish i could delete the old one though

type the factory code, press 2 then type your personal code... you cannot over write the factory code but everytime you set a new personal ocde it overwrites the previous personal code... to find the factory code you have to get the number off the computer... (there's also a spot in the maual for the owner to write it in, maybe the previous owner did)

Even when you fix that link with the ".net", the link is junk.

damnit you beat me by 10 seconds!
