Hi!

I am planning to change my front seats ('99 Explorer) to a more comfortable type. Leather seats from a Saab 9-5. If they fit.... I am a bit worried about the width of them.

But, my present seats are fitted with side airbags. Will the airbag warning light go on if I disconnect the cables from the seats?
Is it possible to put a resistor (with the same resistance as the airbag) on the cable to "fool" the warning light?

Best regards

I've got this same problem after switching from 99 seats with side airbags to 01 sport seats without. The resistor is there on the 01 sport seats, but does nothing for the airbag light. The yellow plug that was on the 99 seats was not a resistor, but had wires running up to the airbag.
