Aura Bass Shaker Bass Shaker... I have a box in the back that I like to get rid of... if I dump the 10" and add an 8" in a custom enclosure (if there is one), how are these Bass Shakers attached? Would two under the rear seats be good? Thanks!:)

I've wanted to try these for a long time...

The shakers are attached to an amplifier like an ordinary sub. It uses the bass output signal from the HU and literally shakes. I've heard that stand-alone they aren't good for music purposes but in conjunction with an actual sub they add to the effect. You can feel the bass without having to turn the volume up all the way on the HU.

Yep. You'd enjoy them more mounted in the front, since they do have a proximity to them. I like them most for theater stuff (in home), or low volume listening in-car so you get the "feel" of the bass without cranking the system.

Sounds nice...

They seem like they'd compliment your dvd player. Is that part of why you want them? If so, please post how it sounds when you install

So you would suggest putting one under each front seat? That sounds like a good idea - you have any pics? :)

Man, that sounds like it's best for dvds then... I'll just leave the box in back. Thanks!

it produces no sound, just vibration...

Vibration??

I don't need that then for sure... thanks!

Just noticed this now...

My best description is it makes bass seem louder than it really is. With a small, weak, offbrand 10" sub, it really *seems* to have a lot more power than it should. Basically, the theory is bass is mostly felt and not heard, so they make you feel it more. The 10" fills in what you hear.

I would say it does a pretty good job, overall. I thought it was a stupid thing at first, but after trying it, I have to say, it really does trick your mind into thinking their is more bass than there is.

I have been happy with it. I have one, and right now it is behind the center console on the floor. It is surprisingly powerful for where it is.

To answer your original question, I think if you dumped the 10, for a hidden 8, and had a bass shaker, it would be at least like you still had the 10 there, maybe even a 12. The best part is, though, it doesn't leave your ears ringing.

The only downside is whatever they are paired with must still produce a clearly audible bass tone, aka, more than just stock speakers.

Edit: Wow, run on post..

I'll check it out

I just want the cargo area back... that box is always in the way. I'll try it and see... thanks!
