The headlights on my X just are too damn dirty, and that's why I think it won't throw off as much light. Here are some pictures I've took, two different pics, different cameras and angles. I've tried to sand it down, and then use paint wax but that didn't do anything, also tried out paint thinner, nothing as well. What you guys think I should do.

buy a new set on ebay you can get both for like 90 bucks with corners and everything or you can try hitting up a junk yard if you feel like wasting some more time there is something called cv plastic headlight restore kit or something at autozone not sure how well it works its like 20 bucks or 15 i forget

Yep, sounds like you've tried everything I can think of. Probably best off to find a good looking junkyard pair, as some of the ebay ones are poorly constructed, and have a tendency to yellow and leak.

or you can dig and dig and dig on eBay for a good deal...

I got a set of new OEM headlights for $10.50, plus $8.50 shipping/handling last May on eBay...

Headlight Cleaning

XDviper, I have heard from a few different people, my mechanic friends and others is that you can polish them with Colgate tooth paste which is a very mild abrasive. Since you already sanded them down and used paint thinner (something I would never do to any headlights), I do not know what the results will be with the recommended tooth paste fix. You must use the regular Colgate, in the red and white package and use it like a polishing compound. It is safe and usually does a good job. Just remember to rinse afterwards with a damp cloth. Hope this helps you and at the same time saves you some bucks.

Yeah but most people already have Colgate tooth paste at home, plus it is cheaper than going out and buying some headlight conditioner when the Colgate works just fine.
