So it should be a fit then? Ok, well my question is like I said it shouldn't adversely affect my tuned performance should it?? I just wanna double check before I make any decisions you know?
ROFLOL!! With all the talk of the 40 series, I lost sight of the original question. It was too early on a Monday... I really should finish my coffee before I start thinking!
I know you all are 5.0 guys, but I can speak from 4.0 experience
I am running an offroad Y pipe ( no cats ) 2.5" from the manifolds back. I can tell you now that the original 40 series flowmaster is going to be loud as hell. Lots of drone. Loud is nice- but didnt really want it all the time. Maybe if I had a GT500.
On the other hand, if you want the 40 series muffler, get the knock offs. Cherry Bomb Pro and the Thrush Fully Welded are all 40 series knock offs. www.performance-curve.com sells a knock off too. Ravin and V-flow mufflers are also knockoffs.
If you want the 40 series growl without the drone, you can also go 40 series Delta flow. Its still loud, deep, and mean but a little more tamed. Super 40's I believe are the delta flows with shorter V wings= deeper. Just do homework and maybe good "exhaust sound clips". Youtube has tones as well.
Well I decided to settle for the 2.5'' Dual In/Out Flowmaster Super40 series. I love it too, Yess it drones but like I said before my 50 series droned some as well so it was very easy to get used to. It doesn't bother me that much because I don't normally take my truck long distances often, and I also normally drive the speed limit since I try to drive gas conservative. I'll try to get some videos soon. I need to buy another tip so I can have it welded on since they took the other one off.
Maybe I over read it but do you have the resonator off? That will for surly help a lot and I have a flow master 40 series and love it. I still need to take the resonator off make it even louder.
My cat was sitting right by buy the speakers when I opened the video. You should have seen her snap her neck when she heard the birds chirping in the background.

Don't get me wrong it is loud but I suppose think retaining all my catalytic Converters help a bit. And yes, it drones but it doesn't honestly drone to the point of a ear deafening level. At points here and there while climbing hills you can hear your ears ring sometimes but I said before I prefer that sound! Thanks for the comments too!!
