Too bad you can't get a Klune-V with the Ranger/BII/Explorer tranny to t-case bolt pattern.

The best way to do it would be to get a C5 bellhousing. Bolt a C4 up to that. Then get a Klune-V for the C4, and an Atlas2 or Dana 20 or whatever case you wanted after that.

$4000 worth of transfer cases. Yikes:eek:

Since you mentioned getting a Bronco II gas tank, can you tell me the difference between the 84 and 85-89 styles? James Duff has them down as diff part numbers. And which one would work best for the rear of an Ex? Is the change fuel injection?

That's pretty much exactly what I was planning on doing. The only variable would be if and when AA comes out with an adapter for the AOD, in which case I may go that route. Either way would leave me with close enough to stock driveshaft lengths.

84 was the first year of the BII so chances are they changed the tank in 85.

84-85 also had a 2.8L carbed motor (and the C5 auto tranny was an option!).

89-90 had a single in-tank pump whereas 86-88 had an intank and an external pump.

So order a tank for an 85-89 (should be 85-90).

Then go to your local autoparts store and look up the part numbers for an 89 or 90 BII fuel pump and a 92 Explorer fuel pump.

If they are the same number, then all you have to do is drop your tank, pull your pump out, put it in the BII tank and get your new lines run.

Otherwise, buy the 89 or 90 BII pump and hook up your lines.

Front Bumper Started

It is still not done. I still need to mount the grille, run some supports, and setup something for the roller fairlead.

There are more pics here...

Looks great. Getting closer to the finished product...

Man Cory you make all of this look soooo easy. Congrats, it's looking real nice.

The tubing will be black or spray-on-bedliner black. FLat or gloss black will be MUCH cheaper!

The front bumper is pretty much done.

Added the supports, made the plate for the roller fairlead to bolt to and got it all welded down. Two small support plates to be welded on and it's done and ready for paint.

The page with the other pics is updated with more!

I sure wish I had your fabrication skills Cory... Your work looks excellent.

Would you like to put your project up on this site as a permanant feature??

Tell you what, when you get done, I will buy that whole rig from you for $200, and I will even pay shipping.......just something to think about.....

Thanks. I am still learning a lot and practicing. This rig will be a good learning experience.

Put it up. Why not? I'll keep posting updates here and when it is all done I will write up something explaining everything.

Thanks Rick.

Thanks we could use a good hard core build up :D

What are you talking about Rick? I've got your hard core truck right here! Shackles AND F150 spacers!

Steering box is on. Looks like there is going to be some tight tolerances for one of the hoses for the hydro-assist, so I may have to take it to a hose shop and have them put a 90deg fitting on it.

I may also end up trimming the stock engine crossmember back and welding in some support plates of my own.

Getting closer!

It's not the easiest thing to see, but my crossmember was cut and reinforced with tubing.

Some 1.5" tubing that I have (hell, it's what everything is made of :D) would work nicely in there. I was thinking about using the tubing as well.

I should know better once the axle is in and where everything is gonna be.

Thats gives me a good visual of how to go that route too. Thanks Rick.
