Found a way to upload pics to another computer elsewhere for the moment.

The rear suspension is complete!!!! Hopefully I can get this done soon and see how it flexes.

The rest of the pics are here.

More Quarter Elliptical Pics

:D

Looking good Cory, Looking good

Damn! Looks great....

Good work!!!!

Uhhh....I don't have any pics with tires on.

Still waiting on the rock ring from Avalanche to help support the hoop for the upper links of the rear suspension. Then it's running brakelines and the rear is complete.

The front axle is positioned under the vehicle. Waiting for the suspension components.

Hard brakelines are all run. Just need to pick up the flexible ones to the calipers in the front and the single one in the rear.

Organized the wiring in the engine compartment. WIll finalize once the hoops for the coilovers are built.

Still need to get the tranny lines into the tranny. Seems the fittings and hard lines from the A4LD are too big for the C5.

Also looking for a Bronco II gas tank to use as a fuel cell.

That's the most current update.

Cory, what leaf springs did ya modify for the 1/4 elliptical setup?
Pete

James Duff has them for $150.
Are you going to put it in the stock spare tire location?

Hey Cory,

Just wondering if that C-5 works with the stock T-case or did you have to go with the Atlas2?????

None. I bought the entire kit on Ebay. It is an Avalanche Engineering kit for a CJ. So whatever leafs they use.

Thanks for the tip. I think I am getting one from a friend.

It will be positioned behind the front seats.

The C5 from BIIs and Rangers in 84-85 had a 1350 t-case behind it. So any Ford t-case with a 5-bolt pattern and a 25 spline input should work. I know for a fact that the BW1350 and BW 1354 will work. I'm some of the newer ones would too.

Cory, any idea what the length is from the bellhousing to the end of the t-case adapter where it bolts to the t-case?

Also, what's the difference between the C-4 and C-5.

I've been digging into this all day. didnt get alot of work done but did find some cool stuff...LOL

Cory actually did some of the write ups here.

Oh yea in my AA catalog I think it says the length. I think the last adapter they have thats 5+ inches would make it within .5 inches of the A4LD. But I'd have to check.
I called drivetrain.com and asked if they had the right bolt pattern on thier bell housings....they sell the C-5 for just over 800$. They havent gotten back to me.
If and when my tranny goes I'm willing to give up overdrive for this Gem of a mod.

Chris

Its all looking pretty Good Cory. Can't wait to see the finished product. Also have a question. I don't know much about the 1/4 eliptic rear but I have seen them on a few jeeps here. My question is I see them driving on the streets is that legal and safe?

I assume that you are referring to the adapter from the tranny to borg warner t-case, or are you referring to the bellhousing?

I'll get those measurements for you by this weekend, Rick.

As for the C4/C5 differences...

The link Marvin posted is pretty good. The C5 used in Rangers has the same bellhousing bolt pattern and same output shaft spline (25) and t-case adapter bolt pattern (5-star) as ever other Ranger/BII/Explorer tranny.

The C5 also has an additional clutch disc I believe.

I don't know. It's really not an issue for me since the only pavement it will see is my driveway!!!! :D

MUDD,

Yea I meant the adapter from the tranny to the T-case. a Klune-V would also be just about right too. and boy with the 2.46 1st geat and the Klune-V you would have a rock crawling monster.
