I installed a new cruise control switch on my 2002 sport trac. The left side (On and Off) does not light up. The right side is fine. What could be up with the "dark side".
These would be led lighted I believe, or at the least a very tiny bulb. It's most likely bad. Just guessing. Take your question to the Sport Trac threads to see if you get a better answer (though it's probably the same setup.)
Your switches should look like 2nd gen cruise switches. I changed mine when I had my 2nd gen. They have one small light bulb in the left side switch. Have a look at my photo.
