custom intake done!

When you get an aftermarket filter kit like kkm I do believe they come with plugs to plug up the vacuum lines you are talking about.

For some reason I can see rain giving that filter a real beating

yeah it was raining/snowing yesterday pretty hard. I was driving around town for about an hour and then on the highway for about 20 minutes and made stops inbetween to check on my intake setup. All was fine (staying in place) but the filter was SOAKED! Still gave me no problems but at the stop lights (even on dry days) it wants to stall out but it doesn't. Is there a was to fix the stalling out part? Could I just make the vacume lines tie into the inake system?

its because you messed with the stock MAF sensor. I would figure out a way to put it back on w/its stock houseing.

as you can see that there is no room for the orignal MAF housing because there has to be an adapter on the other end of it to make it fit the new pipe. So I thought this would work. I don't think it is how the MAF is in there I think it is how far away from the manafold it is. Is there any other possibilties why it wants to stall out. If it helps it battery gauage takes a dump in the toilet and all the lights dimm before when it is about to stall out.

To plug the lines just use screws thats what I did. Did the truck start to stall after you drove it in the rain or before. I would try cleaning the MAF and putting it back in the housing like boomin said. Try taking the stock housing with you to home depot and find a way, I know you could do it, cause you made your cold air intake.

thanks all for the input but there is no possible way to put the MAF in the stock housing because there is no room. I need like 3 more inches inder the hood because the hood won't close. It is kinda too late to move the MAF because I already cut a hole in the pvc. I was thinking of moving the MAF but I am left with that hole from the previous MAF place (see what I am saying??) lol. If I could find a way to fill the hole that would be great. I can't just replace the pipe because I glued them together. (the glue melts the 2 joints together to make a air and waterproof seal).

If you just could find some really thin plastic you could fill up that hole. I got an idea of a high flow MAF, I think it should work and only cost about 5 bucks to make. I made some plans for you guys to see,

unless you ureprogram the sensor u have to use the stock housing. the sensor works on a ratio. it knows how much air passes over it and not how much is going through a tube
