I love my truck, but I also love things that make noise. lol.

So, my buddy has a 97 Ranger with the OHV motor, and he got a cat back system put on with a "dual" exhaust (it splits about half way and dumps out the rear corners) and I like the way it sounds, now with the explorer, with the OHV motor, if I just deleted the muffler and put a piece of straight pipe in place of it, I should have enough back pressure right?

I also want a good nice sound too, I'm sorry but when I can hear the actual motor over the exhaust, there's something wrong here, lol.

So I guess what I'm asking is if anyone has any input on doing muffler/straight pipe swap? Or any audio of what it sounds like?

Sounds great, but a little tunerish, I like the sound of open headers that sound like pure power, but you know, without burring my valves off, lol.

I guess I'll cut that bad boy out of their and throw in a little pipe and see what it sounds like.

Thanks for the vid Jd! :)

I don't expect much, If I had the time I'd drop a v8 in, lol.

I'm just sick of accelerating and not hearing anything but "vrrrmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm"

i first cut my muffler off and it was loud! it sounded ok ideling and excelerating, but if you got on it i thought it sounded bad, too loud. so i cut both cats off and put a turbo-2 muffler on. sounds way better.
