Did I ever mention my house is at the top of a steeply sloped driveway?

Man, that's terrible:( Sure sorry to see this. Hopefully Geico will give you what you need from your Ex. That must have been a horrible feeling when you realized what happened.

I felt incredibly bad. Mainly I felt bad for interrupting their day.... They were as cool as can be expected though.
GEICO called. $4,175.
Hokie, even though you hedged your bet by submitting a range, you're closest with the $4300 bid. Your prize will be determined soon.

Dude sorry to hear about your X, sounds like you ,made out ok with insurance. Man that lift looks huge when your truck is inverted :D

That is terrible! I'm sorry to hear about your loss. The insurance company should allow you to take off anyting that doesn't keep it from rolling. When I totaled mine, they told me I could have anything I wanted off of it, even the wheels/tires if I replaced them with something. I ended up buying it back because it was only $850 and I've done better than that parting it out.

Well, after the deductible, I wouldn't have done better totalling my old Sport vs. selling it. Its sad that its close though

EDIT: Wait, is that the value they're paying you (after deductible?) or is that the value of the truck and they'll be subtracting the deductible from it?

Sorry, I'm an engineer, we're trained to think in best case/worst case scenarios. All engineering principles/assumptions are based off of confidence intervals.

Bob Barker, I shall bid 3875

Karl, ask them for the other price, you should get a choice, with or without buying it back. Chances are their first deal is what you'll take.

Typically if you can get to the vehicle, you may be able to swap parts. You have to replace anything that you take off. The truck will roll through an auction.

My $4000 guess was close then, sorry that you can't get more. Let me see about hunting a link to pictures of the Saleen clone 96 truck.

sorry to hear about the truck, good luck finding something else.

I say 2350.00,Geico is pretty good, but not THAT good.

Soooooo.......

The insurance company would sell the vehicle back to me for $600.
I'm thinking I might be able to get $600 in parts (since the 5 speed is only 13 months old, and the 3" lift spindles could sell for ~$200).
Most things I won't ship, and the prices would be good (since I don't need to make alot of money), and it could help out fellow forum members.
Anyone done this?
Karl

I think you could easily make your money back. Any chance you want to sell your deer killer cheap?

I would, but it's kinda bent on one side. Could be bent back, but the shipping would kill. And some rusty spots.
I'd let it go cheap, like $50 or so, but again shipping to your state would be $100+ I'm sure.
Karl

Do you have any pics of the bends? Any other info on it? Could it be disassembled to be shipped cheaper?

How much damage did the '06 Toyota Camry get? The $4,175 was for your vehicle only I assume? How much is your insurance going up? What is your deductible? Notify Ford about a possible hazardous eBrake issue. Check to see if there is a recall.

The bill for the Camry has topped $7K so far. Bumper, hood, passenger fender, airdam were all crushed.

Is it 4WD Karl, I'm wondering how many parts you might have there to sell. Some stuff goes fast, some takes a while.

Good point Don.
Used 5 speed I would sell for $500 (used one year)
66mmTB/custom intake /GMS would sell for $200
8.8 rear end for $200
I'm already in the black with those pieces...

Oh, and the clone Saleen 96 truck, the owner did send me several pictures. I could save them and post a few here, but how about giving me an email address so I can forward them all to you? It is a nice 302 2WD truck, the Saleen parts alone are worth a couple thousand dollars. No one will buy a truck like that to swap off parts, so it remains intact. I just need an XP8 front bumper, and that's the hardest part to come by. Regards,
