i have some exhaust guys i use up here...i think my ranger was 150 custom without a new cat...to regear gears and install would eat up your 400 bucks and that is if you are only 4x2...if you are 4x4 it will be double that or you will only be 4x2 until you do the front end...you should look at a few rigs and get a game plan going while you save up some money and do it right, the way you want to...there are a lot of reasons you don't want to do it twice...:D

damn, and youre not too far away from me. was that retail or you knew them?

kind of both, i've dealt with both shops for over thirty years and haven't asked for no favors...when i need a favor they just do it for free or charge me like ten bucks for damaged pipe, broken hangers, etc...;)

i am kind of partial to black...but my X is needing a makover...:D

updates for today:
woot! got the tamper-resistant torx bits to try and fix my t-case shift motor.

thinking of doing a budget intake, can i just get a cone filter and a 5.0 maf housing and bolt everything up? and what about the little vacuum lines on the stock airbox?

ok, i took the little skirt off the front bumper, and couldnt find a good way to put the license plate bracket back on, so its currently ziptied to my grill. is there a less ghetto way to do this?

also, i think im gonna just get a flowmaster muffler and bolt it right to my cat, it should be a lot cheaper than getting a full exhaust.

thanks.

looks like i can get a brand new mustang maf for 80 bucks if i can trick them into taking my old maf as the core.

so my abs is broken, and i was thinking of taking out the abs module and getting a few short lengths of ss hose or something and just connecting the input/output lines with the hose. does this sound super sketchy or should it work in theory?

i was doing my brakes when i was first learning to work on cars and i bled them too much and didnt keep the master cylinder topped off so i got air in the abs modulator (according to my old hs auto teacher) and ive had a squishy pedal ever since (about 3 years ago, mabye a little less). or would it be better to get a new modulator?

i think im gonna pick up a cone filter from work on saturday and put that on. but what do i do with the two little vacuum lines that hook onto the airbox right now?

I went to the junk yard and got a maf off a 4.7 crown vic and it is the same size. It is also easier to find. just make sure it is bigger than yours cause some of them had the smaller ones like ours.

You could always dril some holes in your bumper and bolt on the license plate. I zip tied mine to my brushguard cross bars.

Those tires are a good deal.

I had a feeling it was you. I hope your thinking of rebuildng that motor of yours before you think about puting too big of tires on there or doing any thing drastic.

Yeah I fixed my trans and then I broke my drive line. LOL I am the one that told you about this site.

You still going to Miramar?

taking an online class but thats it. i leave for the air force in november.

ive been looking around for a low mileage ohv to swap in, but im pretty broke. its definatly in the plans though, i might go ahead and do a rebuild too. i havent made up my mind yet. i got some debt to get out of before i do anything major.

So your mom finally gave you the truck huh? There was a low milage crate motor on craigslist with trans for 1100. I can also help you rebuild yours if you want. I am good at rebuilding motors.

i can rebuild it, its just finding a decent rebuild kit. all the good ones ive found were 1k each or up.

i think i saw that one, but my tranny is new so im not worried about that.

Yeah this numb nut gave me a ride home after my trans exploded behind his truck in the parking lot lol.

Gt's aren't bad. they are just a cheaper version of goodyears I believe.

Did you check out the one I put up about the 35's?
