I got an Explorer instead of a j**p because:

1. I wanted the reliability of a ford

2. creature comforts such as folding rear seat

3. one-of-a-kind-ness of a 5-spd Explorer

But now, I am getting jealous of the wrangler's ability to go doorless.

Do think I could get away with taking the doors off my X.

Yes and many have been following in Ricks path lately!

I want to see a 2 door do that!!! Lizardtrac??

I want to ditch the doors on my BII eventually, I will probab ly graft in some fiberglass 1/2 door inserts like they make for early bronco's and call it a day :)

Ricks set up is really cool. If I remember right the door skins just attatch to those tube "doors" with tsus (? forgot the brand name) fasteners...really slick setup

I was looking at Autozone the other day and I found some mirrors for six bucks apiece. So my total cost for mirrors is 12 bucks plus another 5 bucks for bracketry and fasteners. Not bad. I'm gonna ask the cop who lives down the road from me about weather or no it's legal. I'll let you know what he says.

Too damn cold in PA in the wintertime to do that!! :p

My friend wanted to go doorless on his fullsized Bronco. What we did was cut out the stock pins for the hinges and put bolts you can unscrew and remove. It takes him about 2 mins to take them on and off. You can probably do the same thing, the wires you could just put a wire disconnect, so you can put them back together.
