Hi!

I've got a '95 Explorer Limited and I'm currently experiencing the elusive dome light problem where the cab's lights don't turn off even if the door is closed. I've read that this may have something to do with a dirty door switch, and I've tried using WD-40 quite generously on the driver door latches. I thought this would work because there was a lot of corrosive buildup on the driver latch, but ultimately it boiled down to me using up much of my can with no result. I'm fairly certain that the driver door latch is at fault, as shutting the driver door has worked periodically but never consistently. If you guys could help me out with this, I would very much appreciate it.

Cheers,
Neel

you can find out which switch is at fault by opening each door / port and listening for the chime. If a door doesn't chime, then that's the switch needs attention .... either thru WD or replacement.

I sprayed some WD-40 into the driver-door latch, and after letting it sit for a night, it seems to be working well. I'll have to give it some time in order to make sure this is a lasting fix, but so far so good. I appreciate your suggestions.

helli took my door light switch off.. i dont have a stupid chime or a light.
