Driveshaft troubles

I need help! I have a '97 Limited AWD with the 5.0 engine, and my front driveshaft has gone belly up!

It's the type with a U-joint in the front and a CV joint in the rear side of the shaft with the "bowl" where it connects to the X-fer case.

Can anyone tell me where I can get a replacement shaft cheaper than the almost $700.00 that Ford wants for one?

you are looking for a "prop shaft"

You should be able to find one for less than 300 bux-

or you can talk to some one like tom wood and have and adapter made to a flange type d-shaft for a hundred bucks and use a four bolt cv or u joint flange.
