Engine replacement, 93 into 91?

Okay this is probably a extremely dumb question but I'm looking at getting a 1991 Ford Explorer that has a dead cylinder so I'm thinking the engine is junk. I have a 1993 Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer that was running and driving and deemed the engine worth keeping since it wasn't worth being put back on the road. I'm wanting to put the engine from the 1993 Eddie Bauer Explorer into the 1991 Ford Explorer and was wondering if there were any differences that in swapping the engines? If anybody could please help me out with any information at all it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to view this thread.

To my limited knowledge, there shouldn't be any differences that would prevent a direct swap. I know there can be differences in the belt-drive setup, but that doesn't seem to be based on year or model, and it doesn't change anything about the swap except whether or not you'll have a spare belt tensioner afterward.

I'd be more concerned if there were other drivetrain differences. For example: the starter from a manual transmission Explorer won't fit one with an automatic trans.

Again, that's based on my limited knowledge. I'd still wait for more information or input from others.

If you can pull and engine and stab a transmission then you can do this swap

Are both trucks automatic?
