I was wondering, what companies actually have a dual exit exhaust system for the 3rd generation explorers (4d lmited to be exact!)? Ive been looking for almost 3 months, and im sick of this! If you know of any that do have them, please let me know!

I do not believe any companies make a dual exhaust for the ex. Most people who have them went to a exhaust shop and had them custom made. I would suggest you check some of teh local shops to see who does custom exhaust work and have them give you a price.

I have one on my X bud. Look at my home page. Its a Borla Cat Back. Beutiful and clean looking... and sounds GREAT!!! Nice stainless steel single pipes coming out of each side.

Where is the link to your explorer exhaust. I am thinking of doing mine. Did you get better economy of seat of pants performence? How much will the system cost, etc?

Regards,
BILL

I didn't think anyone made a kit, but looks like I'm wrong. I'd love to hear what the 4.6V8 sounds like opened up a bit.

... then check this link out
http://www.gibsonperformance.com/products.asp?pid=14297&make=25&model=663#663

also, for those of you who are a bit more budget-constrainned, look at the mac-cat-back here http://www.macperformance.com/store/category.cfm?SID=3&Category_ID=516

does anybody have a comment on either of these 2 systems???

250 for the mac...how much for the gibson? I gotta admit I like the sound of the gibson...maybe that's what Santa will bring me

I have the MAC on my 02 Sport and I love it!

Deep and throaty but not too loud. Fit and Finish is perfect and the system was inexpensive and shipped the same day I ordered. I was very impressed with the quality and sound! I would recomend this system to anyone.

I have heard the Gibson systems are "tinny" sounding and borla is quite expensive for what you get.

It's not a dual exhaust setup but I have the JBA SS headers + JBA SS cat back and together they give good added performance at mid to high RPMs. Excellent for freeway passing and the sound is very rich and deep when you open the throttle part way. Full throttle operations will have mothers and children scurring off sidewalks. Build quality of the JBL parts are exemplary.

Ill get some better pics of my exhaust when I install the motor. I should have my motor next week sometime. The Borla cat back was quite expensive but the finish tells it all. Its got two great looking duals out the rear that no one else had. All stainless and the tips at fat and clean. Sounds wonderfull, thoaty and clean... when im on the gas its very delightfull, when I did the cat back only.

I now have JBA headers, no cats and converted the Borla to a true dual, with a nice cone filter. VERY aggressive sounding. With my new motor with the cams and all it should be awsome.
