Explored Trading in My 2012 Ex Limited

Wanted to lower my payment. Took it to the Jeep dealer to explore trading it in on a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland. They offered me $34,000.00 on the trade. Yes that's right. $34,000.00! It's two months old and has 5500 miles on it. It's the 302A package and has dual headrest dvd, all weather mats and cargo mat. Needless to say, I'm keeping the Explorer. Better vehicle than the JGC anyway.

Cash is king. If you can't pay for it, don't buy it.

How was this going to lower your payment when a Grand Cherokee Overland is about the same price as your Explorer? As far as the Trade that is about what I would expect dealers make a lot on trade ins and the way Ford floods the market with cheap leases I wouldn't expect real good resale.

The main thing that can be accomplished by trading nearly new Explorer for new JGC is more debt.
