Yikes! What did that include?
That probably means that there is a IA keyfob out there some where that can still be used on your vehicle.I recently purchased a 2011 that only came with one IA key. Had the dealer later program a second key for me. It was $290 total. Should have thought about working into the deal when I bought the car.
I bought 2 spares from Remotesremotes.com and it comes with instructions. I couldn't get the spare to unlock or lock doors so I took these keys to dealer. It requires 2 keys to program some number of spare keys. The Autonation dealer was nice enough to program it at no cost. The keys cost me around $36 if I remember it right.I'd like to buy an extra (have 2, want 3 total) smart key for the new Limited. How much will these cost at the dealership? Will it require programming from the dealership? Thanks.

Welcome to the Forum Brian.Hello to all. New member here. Just bought a 2015 Ford Explorer XLT from my in-laws neighbor. Problem is it only came with one key/fob as one was lost some time ago. I would like to get a replacement just like what came from the factory. Fob has 5 buttons on it, lock, unlock, panic, rear door, remote start.
What is the best and cheapest route to accomplish this? Also is a key available without the fob included?
My vehicle supposedly has a pass code to unlock the doors, is this reliable?
Thanks for your answers and suggestions Brian
Some members have bought them off eBay or Amazon. Just make sure they are the correct frequency (315MHz).has anyone purchased a replacement key fob without having to buy it from the dealer? Any issues, good or bad? Thanks
