The Manual tells you that 2 original keys are required to program any others. Did you only have just the one?

I had 2 keys and bought 2 more. Yes, it is required to have 2 keys to program new keys.
With my used 1999 Explorer Sport, I only had one key, I went to locksmith and for $150 had them program me a new key to make it 2 and I ordered 2 from remotesremotes.com and programmed it myself. It worked great until it died a few years ago.
