'97 XLT
Hi all. I am wondering if anyone has had any luck with repainting or replacing the black sections between the doors and the back trim peices around the sides of the back window on their 97 XLT? The pieces on my SUV are terribly faded. I have noticed they are faded on many 97-98 models. Does anyone have any tricks for fixing?

faded trim on a '97?

Check out post #11 in my registry here- I painted the faded trim on my '97... :)

I used 3 coats of Krylon Rust Tough Semi-Flat Black, which came out awesome. I also painted my '95 with the same paint. Slight sheen, but not shiny- it's a great balance, and greatly recommended- it matches the rest of the trim color and texture/sheen nearly perfectly...

i have used a product called Black Again that is UV activated, and it works great. you just apply it with a rag to the color plastic trim pieces, exterior only, and get an even coverage. let your rig sit in the sun for a little while and then its good as new.
