Man,I'm about tired of rotating and replacing tires on my explorer.
I've been told it's poor design but,no one can tell me a way to fix it.They simply say "it can't be fixed, just rotate like crazy" I don't buy that, there's a strong will so,anyone know a way?
I've thought about new torsion bars but, been told that wouldn't fix it.All I kno0w is the insides cup like nuts if I don't rotate every 3000.

Check your bushings up front. Some of them may be bad, and that might be causing the cupping.

You need you go to a reputable alignment shop. 40k on my second gen tires, with no cupping, and only 1 rotation. You suspension isn't faulty, something is either worn out, or out of alignment. There is no reason it can't be fixed.

New torsion bars definitely won't fix the problem. You have something wrong/misaligned in the front suspension. I'd find another shop. I ran an '01 Explorer for 4 years and never had cupping problems with the front tires.

You have an alignment issue, or a front suspension issue. It's not a design issue at all. I had Michelin LTX M/S's on my 98 Ex (same exact suspension design) for 99,937 miles. There was no cupping involved, and I rotated them every 6000 miles.

01 Explorer XLT control trac 4x4
New Mich LTX M/S Tires and Alignment May 04 odometer 76000
Rotated every 6000 miles
Just walked out side to measure center tread depth Awesome I still have 7/32'' left
Now the odometer has 145,800

I was unsure when I purchased these tires if they would last or if I was buying a lot of hype for a lot of money. But dollar for dollar I think this is the best vehicle/tire combo that I have found ever. I have never got this many miles out of my tires, Then I started thinking. Yep, everyone should step back! The control trac part of this vehicles 4x4 system Eliminates wheel spin. The brown wire mod sounds fun to be able to play. But then I'm would need tires probably twice as fast. Like others have said there are Many different causes for tire wear. I just learned that many of mine in the past may have been operator inflicted, shame on me, burnt rubber smell, spinning in the rain.

I also just learned I owned my Explorer for 3.5 years before joining this AWESOME site.
Maybe I should see a shrink? Am I really asking myself these questions? Where's my medicine?

if your t bars sagged and gave you - camber then twist the bolts a bit to bring it back closer to stock, then get an alignment

Get the lift back you lost with sagging springs, its simple to do
