front driveshaft removal

I have a 97 explorer 5.0 awd. I'm going to pull the front driveshaft to replace the front u joint. On the transfer case it is a cv joint. Do you just pull the 6 or so bolts and its pulls off? Does anything fall apart when you pull it off?
Also I noticed it is greasy around that area, is this a sign its going bad?

yeah it comes right off with the 6 bolts on the TC side and 4 on the front diffy side. Is a 97 part of a spicer front driveshaft?

Mark the driveshaft alignment and remove the bolts. Be careful because it will fall down on you.

well i know on my 2k there is a spot for a grease needle to go in in the cuped part of the driveshaft that goes to the TC
