Fuel pump problem

After installing a new fual pump, I still don't get gas to the engine. The pump make a hum that it on and keep humming when I try to turn the engine over but no gas is making it. I change the fuel filter and I tryed to see if. Gas makes it to the filter with out it on but no gas is moving. When I removed the old filter black gas came out

Check the polarity on your pump.

Jorge, the reasson I brought that up, is I was reading a thread here before and it said to make sure to make the positive and negative connections correctly,, because if you reverse the polarity the pump run backwards. Before you put it in, with an LED test light would be good, the one that turns red for positive and green for ground.
