ive been doing some researching and know about the mountaineer, sport/sport trac, and the fiberglass stuff.

anyone know if the ranger edge front end (factory) will fit? i doubt it will but im just checking...

lincoln navigator? i know its PRETTY much the same as an explorer so that should fit...?

and a question about the sport/sport trac fronts... the fenders have a "buldge" around the wheel well while the explorers dont... so do you need to use the sport/sport trac fenders? and have different wheel well flares? or can you use explorer fenders?

i think thats it but i forget...

navigator is an expedition....

If you put the Sport Trac front end on a Gen II Explorer you will have a funky bulge on the front fenders that is not matched on the back, like it would be on a sport trac.

You cannot sue the factroy gen II fenders.
The Trac fenders are required to mesh with the trac grill/light, bumper, and hood.
The Sport Trac conversion would require the factory sheet metal from the cowl forward, hood, fenders, grill, header panel, bumper,, bumper cover, and valance.

Also you might be the first person to ever do it, so it may not even work :)
I have been trying to find a Sport Trac style front clip for my 96 for about 6 months now....no luck.
buying the parts new would be about $2000.

lol nah i wouldnt:P i dont even own an explorer yet, debating on 1st gen and 2nd gen and what exactly to do with it... i know a lift and possibly v8 for sure but tryin to figure out the look i want

Only the 96+ Explorer is avail with the V8
Lifting a Gen II you have a few options none of them cheap when compared to the Gen I
All 5.0L Explorer's (96-01) are AWD not 4wd.

Just FYI
