Thomas-
It looks like the #2 spark plug wire might be touching the header here.

see if it is arcing--look now while it's dark out-see if you see a sparking along any of the wires-
the engine will need to be running for this

Oh shoot I see. If it gets fried do I got to replace all 8?

hmmm
where is the ticking? in the area of the picture?

you might make sure the spark plugs are seated tight, and the wires are fully seated to the plugs-
Those things sealed up nice-I'll bet it's the spark plug arcing you are hearing. Dang I wish I was there to see-

If the headers did work loose for a while and you drove a few miles on them that way-it is possible the gasket was burned.

I just put some more JB Weld on I'll check in the morning this time I want to let it set in. Im thinking the gasket got torched as well. Its coming from the passenger side somwhere maybe toward the back area. Its very hard to tell but its definitely on that side only. Me and Geoff are gonna crack down Friday and go through all that side and get it back up in action. We're just going to replace the gasket regardless and pray it stops.

I'm very satisfied with the tmh's. It took alot more work than it should have, but everything went good. If you don't mind i'd like to add a few tips on the install.

I wasn't a fan of the spectre bolts for the manifold, with the 7/16 head on them it made it impossible to get a socket on, and i just don't trust an open end wrench to get them tight enough, the 3/8" head-3/8" bolts bob provided worked pretty good as far as getting a socket/swivel on and getting them pretty damn tight. The gaskets that came with the headers were pretty junky. I bought a set from summit (dead soft aluminum) but the ports were huge, way bigger than the ex. ports. (sold them to a friend) I've had luck with felpro ex. gaskets so i used them instead. I've been meaning to call bob and tell him to check his jig, but my egr tube was totally wrong, about 1/2" to 3/4" short when connected to the egr valve itself. Not too bad to fix with a welder and a combination of my stock egr tube and the one bob made. Dip stick issue: I had a pita time getting the stud's provided with the headers to get tight (9/16" nut on the stud) I had to take the drivers side header again to fix the collector, i used a 1/4-20 ss bolt and tap and made a nice little dipstick holder.

So to sum up my nightmare, Heads rebuilt (new valve springs, sleals, retainers, heads milled, seats ground, valves ground), new head bolts, hyd roller lifters, intake bolts (The company i work for has a pretty nice selection of ss bolts  ) intake spacer, valve covers, spark plugs, wires, tmh's and a sct livewire. Broke the front ear off the upper intake, tig'd it back on. Started it, bad misfire, cyl #7. Checking wires and plug's everything looked good. Bad lifter noise... So Everything back off... Turns out that in re-shimming the rocker arms i forgot to tighten one of the rocker arm bolts...IDIOT... In the 20+ times i've taken off the upper intake/valve covers, i've got it down to 15 minutes. Took a straight edge to my intake manifolds and found out they were slightly untrue, after they were installed of course :(. So a little grey rtv on the gaskets and i think i stopped the intake leak. My mountaineer run's like a raped ape. I can't say enough about the help and support from James Henson and Bob Pasquale, as well as other members on this site and this thread. Thanks a ton.

You do still have the factory wires on there, so they're probably due to be replaced anyway.

Jon didn't have any luck at all between cracking the ear on the manifold, and whatever is wrong on the passenger side. At least the drivers side is ok (the side I put on:D)

I didn't even notice it when it happened (the crack). I put everything together and tried starting it, wouldn't run, detonation like whoa. So after alot of profanity, i checked it out, found the problem, more profanity, then had it welded back on. Do you guys like these valve covers?

Where did you get your headers? I email Torque Monster Header? I emailed the web site a few times and never got a replay...How much did they coast?

Just call, its always easier than email.
