I have a 2014 Ford Explorer and randomly while driving down the road all the electronics will stop working, all gages will go black, no turn signals and the heat will start blowing on high. And they will randomly come back on and then off again. If you shut the car off it will not start again and randomly while turned off the lights will come on (with no key fob in the car) and heat will start again. Only way to get the car to start again is to disconnect the battery, charge it and then it will start. Anyone had issues like this before?? Any thoughts on what to fix? Dealership in town and our local mechanic can’t figure it out and it doesn’t code anything. Help please!!

First thing I would check are the battery terminals and cables. You may have to disconnect the battery to really see what's going on. You could also have the battery load tested at an autoparts store to see if there is a hidden problem there.

Sounds like you're bcm is starting to go. Worst case scenario. But it very well could be a bad ground. How many miles on your explorer?

Have you tried disconnecting the battery and not charging it, just waiting a minute and hooking it back up?

What is the battery voltage, disconnected from the vehicle but not charged yet?

What is the battery voltage after charged, if you wait around 10 mins after disconnected from the charger for the voltage to settle, before hooking it back up to the vehicle?

If you have tried just disconnecting, waiting a minute then reconnecting the battery and it does not start, then I suspect that your alternator is failing, though repeated deep discharge might be killing the battery now, too.

Welcome to the Forum.
Have you checked for trouble (DTC) codes?

Peter
Yes, we had both our Ford Dealership and our mechanic run diagnostic code test and it doesn’t code anything.
