Do some research, I remember reading that a certain combo of heads on an older block can cause issues. I don't remember what it is, but I think new ones can be used on older blocks but not the other way around.
Just make sure you know for certain before investing the time and money. There was a site on rebuilding the Ford Cologne V6 which had a ton of good info on it.
