After changing the spark plugs and wires out, I noticed my car was blowing only cold air. I did break what seems to be a vacuum hose during this. It was hard, brittle plastic. But I reattached everything with some new hose that fit over the old hose snuggly.

Anyway, I thought the thermostat might be stuck open and my car has always run at just above the C on the gauge so I replaced it. It runs in the middle of the gauge now but I'm still getting cold air. I don't hear any clicking when I try to change between cold and hot so I didn't think it would be the blend door though I'm no expert and could be very wrong. How can I go about trouble shooting what this might be? Thanks!

Recheck the vacuum line that you broke. One line controls the blend doors (and duct doors) and the other controls the valve to the heater core and if the lines leak at all they will not work properly.

Rechecked the hose and re-rigged it to fit a little more snug. Still no hot air. Also, no matter what the air comes out of the top of the dash. Barely anything will come out of the other vents.

Check for any other vacuum lines that may also have been damaged. It pretty much has to be a vacuum problem.

if it only blows out the defroster vents, you have a vacuum leak. with a vacuum leak the heater control valve wont open either.

Would it be the one that goes to the ball/reservoir? I broke and repaired the other one.

it could be any vac line anywhere. even a leaky power brake booster can cause a vacuum leak, although i doubt that's your situation.

Thanks guys. Following Turdle's link. Going to check for leaks now. I'll keep you posted.

I think I've found the problem. There are two lines coming out of the ball reservoir. One of them is broken off at the top of the ball.
