... I was just wondering if someone could give me a short non-detailed list of the most logical modifications to say... a '98 Eddie V8 2wd... Engine as a top priority preferably... just looking for a quick reference to go by for the future...

Like I said in the title, sorry to be that annoying new guy but its late and I don't have much time to look up and gather resources (let alone time till I need to get up and go to work for the day) so if you would kindly spare the flaming, could someone's kind soul give me a short list of "ideal" mods along with possibly an ALSO short list of pros/cons... again, sorry to be the lazy noob. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the site
Not to brag, as I certainly don't have the most elaborate setup, you can click my screen name and then click view vb garage. I think I have a good start on it, you'll have an easier time being 2WD, I think.
Also I noticed you are relatively close to me, well closer than most
Good luck and feel free to ask questions

All you need as a bare minimum:

(1) MAC Air Intake (only major brandname for the V8).
(2) Free flowing muffler, 2.5" pipes from the cats back.
(3) SCT tuning, contact Bamachips or Hypnotic. (both site sponsors). I currently use Bama's expertise and it's good stuff. I haven't tried it on V8 yet (only had it for just over a week and waiting for my new tunes). Awesome on SOHC V6.

hehehe the V8 will be better :)

try here for starters:

I can only imagine. I'm loving the 5.0 with "just" exhaust and intake as it is. :D

That's a pretty solid list for starters, and is basically what you're going to find most people do for performance at first. Out of those three, I myself have only changed my intake before moving onto other things like shocks. Hopefully I'll get to the others when cash flows more freely. Run a few searches on intake, exhaust and chip. There's a crapload of info here. Good luck man!

I think you better figure out what you want to do with your vehicle before you ask what modifications to make! You should get different answers depending on what your application is.

Now, to those who started answering before he stated:

Is he going to tow a boat with it?
Is he going to do the street cruise thing?
Is he going to race around town like an idiot?
Is he going to <insert application here>

;)
