hey guys, i happened to notice tonight that my brake lights are on all the time, its kinda weird because when i step on the brake all the lights do get brighter,

when the running lights (or headlights, dont matter) are on, the tail lights are bright and the 3rd brake light is lit. when you step on the brake pedal all 3 lights get a little brighter

when no lights are on and u step on the brake pedal the 3 brake lights come on but SO do ALL of my running lights!

its 11pm and i just got home from a long day of work, so no, i havent checked anything yet lol the only other lights i have from stock is the led strip below the tailgate, i suspect this may be the problem since i wired it up as running lights and brake lights, not the turn signals. i dont think it would be my trailer wiring.... any help on where to start is appreciated! are there any fuses or relays that would do this?

Thanks guys!

Maybe the switch on the brake pedal is going bad?

thanks i will check these after work today, ill look at the wiring also...

well all the lights acted normal today...odd... got home early from work, and since its a beautiful day i decided to wash my truck, opened the trailer plug (7 round plug).... FULL of mud/water and the worst corrosion i have ever seen, wonder how that got there lol. well i think that was my problem....

Yeah the switch on the pedal was the cause of this in my wifes Windstar.. We'd get out of the car and notice th brake lights were on.. Just taping the brake pedal was enough to have them go out.

Ranger379,

Now that the Connector is cleaned up , do you have or has the problem returned ?

actually tried taping the brake a few times that night - nothing

after cleaning the plug - all has been fine haha

sup buddy!!!! i do believe your brake relay switch is going bad this is normal for cars around these years my talon did the same thing and that was what the problem was it was a bad brake relay switch.
