Just put a brand new alternator and battery in my 94 Ford Explorer and the battery light keeps staying on and the battery gauge on the dash is vibrating from high to low rapidly! Can someone please tell me what might be wrong so I can fix it. Thank you

Do you have a volt ohm meter
To test the battery with the engine running

check 15 amp fuse in under hood power dist box there is one for the alternator to power it up so it will charge
roscoe

Make sure your voltage is around 12v with engine off, and inbetween 13.9(hot)-14.5(cold) with the engine running. Also, re-check your alternator's voltage regulator plug make sure it's in all the way. Did the gauge ever move erratically before you replaced your alt/batt? A bad ground can cause this too..
