help!!

hey guys..
I was wondering if any of you guys that know Jefe know if the engine put in is from an '00 or i think i heard it was from a '96..been tryin to get in touch with Jefe with no luck..I've gotta replace the valve lifters, cam synchronizer, tie rod(it was only tacked on and i didnt find that out till it broke on a nite ride), and that dang rear locker..just need to know what year the engine block came from..

so just to make sure, i need to order the cam shaft synchronizer for a 96 explorer..correct??thanks for the help..
