just did the install on the coolbulbs 6000K kit. one of the ballast is causing flickering. started on the driver side, i switched the ballasts and now its on the passenger side. ive noticed the positive reviews lately have the main power wire that comes from the ballast is black. mine are red on each ballast, im wondering if i received the older ones that were having problems? ill have to send andrew an email and hopefully get this fixed asap.

I have the CoolBulbs 6000K kit on my 2013 Sport, I have had NO problems using them in auto.
But for HID to work on a Sport, you have to move the DRL, from the main beams to the amber lights. easily done by a dealer.

I'm confused.

DRL's on a sport?

Just installed 6000k kit from coolbulbs in the 2013 sport. 40 minute job. His the wires and ballast as best I could. Had to reverse polarity on both ballasts to make them work.

andrew is sending me another ballast. i had to take pictures of the faulty ballast with the wires cut (im guessing to prove im not just getting an extra ballast lol). fingers crossed this one is good.

have my kit ready to go

i have the coolbulbs kit to for my headlights and fog lights here and ready to install... i have the red power cords too... i got a feeling these are the ones having problems...
u guys that have had the problems were your ballests cords red also??
im really concerned now... if i put these in and they dont work im gonna be pissed off for wasting my time...
i seen the other thread first too and thats why i decided to go with the coolbulbs.. if i had read this first i would have not ordered these...

I have a TRS kit and have had issues all winter with the passenger side not firing when the car is started.

TRS warrantied both ballasts and bulbs and I also tried bypassing the relay harness and I still have the issue.

He is from Canada where they have DRLs on their vehicles. We do not for the US version.

Thats correct, I live in Ottawa, Canada but I was not aware that the
US Explorer's do not DRL turned on from the factory. If you want to have DRL the dealer can turn them on very easy on his diagnostic computer.

I just installed both headlight HID conversions from Coolbulbs.
One fired right up the other I had to reverse polarity. Both fired up now.
I will keep u guys posted as to any problems, I pray I do not have!!
Both bulbs were hard for me to twist in. They r not like the stock halogen bulbs that have a 90 where the power cord hooks up.. So no leverage to twist to lock in place..

Don't have time for this...

Just got home from work and the driver side was out.. I had 2 extra ballasts for the fogs that I did not install but I pulled everything back out and put the stock halogen bulbs back. They really looked sweet.. When they were on.
I can't afford to get pulled over for a headlight out...

Sending back to get a refund tomorrow... :(

Good luck... I'm sending them all back. 1 shot with me that's it. Needless to say the shot was a air ball

U must not have had the ballasts with the red power cord... Let me guess yours is black?

Has anyone had any problems with fuses blowing?

I have a 2014 Sport and my fuse has blown again for the 2nd time.

I'm using a cool bulbs set for fogs.

For the guys having problem with Coolbulbs, consider the Diode Dynamics HID conversion kits. No problems at all. $179 includes HYLUX CANBUS premium ballasts, relay harness and DRL kill.

$179 for the set?

i installed my volt kit hid to my sport.that used to be on my Is fogs for a year .its been a month no problem on auto.as i remember i just paid like $100 on that hid kit from kbcarstuff as a clublexus member.theyre selling it for sale right now for $109.im not affiliated with them or so.just putting my experience with their product.

I have my $40 set coming from DDM Tuning. Always had great luck with their HIDs on my bikes. And if it doesn't work out and I need to go to a high dollar set then I order in other bulbs and put on another vehicle.

I can barely see with my Sports lights at night. Driving in the rain forget about it as I have to basically follow another car. My Grand Cherokee had awesome headlights so this whole thing pisses me off...
