I dont know much about HID's only that they're brighter than normal lights. I've seen multiple kits ranging in prices and one question still remains...

What is a HID computer warning and canceler and why if any reason would this be necessary

Thanks for the help!

the warning/canceler thing is because these newer vehicles give a warning light when you have a headlight or taillight out. Plugging a HID ballast into the stock headlight harness doesn't give the computer the same resistance as a normal bulb, so you get these annoying beeps and error lights.

The fix is to wire in a couple of 50 watt resistors between the high/low beam and chassis ground. You can get a pack of 4 for 10-12 dollars on ebay....so unless they come included in a kit that you buy, that's the way to go.

Do you think I'd be okay seeing how im rocking a 2003? Or should I go the extra mile and get the resistors?

In a car without projectors the HID would blind everyone if you don't aim them down. And if you aim them down you don't get a decent amount of light. I say you should Google how to retro fit them because you'll have much better light output and wont kill a small family from blinding them. I had to remove mines because they blinded everyone, got flashed and flicked off so much and i decided to see how bad it was, and it was bad. I recomend the Kensun kit from amazon, if something breaks they'll send you a new part, no questions asked. Also you can buy a projector headlight kit from amazon, those would work too. 3000k to 6000k has the most brightness. 8000k and up it gets less brighter. 3000k is usally used for fog lights because of the exteme yellow. and HID kits are plug and play.

i have a 2004 and i run HIDs without the indicator, no problems. I think you should be fine without it.

and yes the fogs are h10. use www.sylvania.com vehicle bulb charts for all your interior and exterior bulb chart needs.

Good to know, maybe it was something they added towards the end; I always thought it was on all the 3rd gens.

I guess you could check to see if you have it by unplugging a headlight and turning them on to see if you get an error message.

I bought my 8000k hid kit on my 05 ex from ddmtuning.com. 50 shipped. I didn't need that extra stuff. And I went with the 35w. I was definitely getting highbeamed and **** talked to me. I aimed them down a little and it's perfect now.

I put HIDs in the heads and fogs of my friend's 05 with no problems. got them from vvme

I want to get a HID headlight kit for my 01 ST, and I found some good deals on amazon. Xentec, Kensun... are these good, reliable HID kits? Which is the best kit?

ncyrider, Check the reviews of the products, do your research. I've gotten burned on too many kits from ebay, amazon, etc. As I stated before, My VVME kits have never failed me. I had a fog light ballast burn out after 4 years. The road salt here in Jersey finally took it's toll on them where they were mounted.
