I decided against getting a fiberglass hood because I don't think it's worth it, but I was wondering about hood pins. I want to get them because they look cool but with the steel hood they should be fine right? Would they be stronger or weaker than the latch?
I think If there used in Drag Race Applications On stock Hoods with Modifications like Hood Scoops Bolt on Or Rivet On Cowl Hood Scoops , I have a Pair Of hood Pins I was Going to Install , But I Modded my Hood Latch After My Cable Broke Right At the Start of the Handle , I used a Piece of Fence Wire Tie , Bent it the shape I wanted And Attached it to the Stock Cable Location , Now I can Open The Hood Without Opening My Door , If I had a Grille Installed It's Not Viewable Or Noticeable , But only seen When I open the Hood In Person ! . Long post , Must be Early haha .
Hood pins belong on ricers or real race cars. Not on a stock application or any steel hood for that matter. The stock latch is strong and the Explorer doesn't have any problem with hood flutter.
really?? laughing?? i havent had one single person laugh, and really they aint even noticeable once in stalled.and hold really tight as well, when you cant go stock you gotta do something.
i dont really like the look of them but i have them on my rig...
ive lost a hood and a windsheild before to a faulty factory latch assembly...
ive come to learn that when u treat your rig like an airplane... stuff that normally doesnt break or come loose... DOES!
