How many miles do you have on your stock shocks?

I'm at almost 81k with a rediculous amount of nose dive, bouncyness, and general everything else sucking.
My question is has anyone else been on their stock shocks this long and can it cuase any damage?

Hopefully when my next paycheck comes in I will be getting some R9000X's but it hasn't been my highest priority at the moment.

i work in the industry and its a general industry standard to have factory shocks/struts replaced every 60k miles.... at 81k they are probably gone.....

i got 83k on my ARC shock's..but that does not help you..my dad has 61k on his stocker's..looking for some new ones soon tho

Mine had about 120,000 on them when they were replaced KM

I had 90k on the rear when they were replaced the fronts have never been done 195k. I'm shopping now.

I think mine are worn out but I'm not 100% sure. It bounces a little on the highway, but it's not too much to notice. Handling is still awesome, not too much body roll and the ride is pretty comfy, just the way I like it. Should I still go ahead and get new shocks when I have enough money??

Today I am replacing stock shocks @ 79900mi. Quick steering a bit mushy and I had some shock noise off-road. I'll be putting in the front shocks today since I put the rears in this morn(Gabriel VST LT GasRyders)

For around town I am sure I could have gone longer on the original shocks, but since I have the time and plan on doing some off road camping again I want to be ready

If anybody reads this I do have a question:

Do I have to unhook the battery for front shock replacement? I don't want to set off any airbags, but don't want to go through the ............if I don't have to/thanx

I don't see any reason why you should have to disconnect the battery.

thanks Mike, that will make it easier for me to start up and moving the X for accessing each side without messing with the resetting/pcm proceedure

I believe if the shocks are really shot your tires can wear much quicker, and I would think that undue spring wear could occur over time. And there's a safety issue too if your failed shocks cannot do what they are intended for.

Handling is still awesome, not too much body roll and the ride is pretty comfy, just the way I like it.

If the ride is awesome and nothing is wrong I'd wait until you start noticing problems with nosedive, body roll, and bouncing. If you replace your shocks they'll ride different than what they are now. If you like it, keep them until there are problems. Unless you like body rolling and all that stuff, then I suggest changing them anyways because that's not a good quality in a shock.

My shocks were bad enough when I changed them that when I was bouncing down back roads I didn't feel as safe, and was waiting for my shocks to bounce off wrong and send me into the trees. I could compress them very easily by hand when I took them off also, which was very different than the effort that it takes to compress my Rancho's.

I changed my stock ones at 65k. By that time I had about 6 bounces coming out of speed bumps, and it would rock back and forth about 6 times as well when I would make turn into a driveway or coming out of one.

48000 and mine are shot, shopping for new ones now. every little bump turns into a huge jolt with my front tires going every which way. its even worse when i drive my girlfriends lexus quite a bit, then get in the ex. talk about annoying.

I changed out my factory shocks at 4,000 miles. I couldn't stand how mushy they were. Final straw was when I was sitting in traffic, and a Tracker went by me going the other way at about 30 mph, and my truck shook side to side. Next day the factory shocks were gone. I have a set of Gabriel VST's now and they have performed well for 36k miles.

Mine were doing fine up until around 50k miles when I lowered it.
