227 miles (read; two-hundred and twenty seven) and so far so good!

:p: had to do it.. :p:

On my 96 It turned to 179k the other day on original engine and tranny (cross my fingers) lol. And my 2000 has 198k I replaced the engine last year cause of the damn SOHC. Put 10k miles on it in 5months since the engine job.

375,000 kilometers,,

lol, artificially high, but still 233,000 miles,,

well here is the picture I promised.

Friday night I was out getting Chinese food and on the way home I realized I turned over to 100,000 miles!

I believ it is on the original motor, trans and rear axle. the original owner traded it in and I bought it.

2000 Mountaineer 2WD @132,000 miles. The 5.0L is the best.

208k on our 99 still looking, running and driving good with most everything working as it should and is preferred ride with its heated seats. Wife drives it 50 miles a day and loves it.

Most reliable and comfortable vehicles ever owned. Probably going to drive it till 300k if it doesnt get wrecked

Just passed 123,456 on my 2000 awd.

Almost 91k now....They grow up so fast :(. She is also 14 years old. Entering the rebellious teenage years. I hope I raised her well and she will behave.

113k. nothing but problems, i gave the thing away for free. thats what ford is worth to me now. on the other hand, i got a supra. color me happy.

That's awful man, and one in a million. These trucks are darn good and reliable, and really sad when stuff like that happens.

1997 with the 5.0. Just turned 176,000 with the original engine and tranny. Still doesn't use any oil.

98, 5.0, 215k. original everything except 1 coil pack. runs perfect.

yeah sorry to come off like a troll, i was just that fed up with the truck. i had it since 05, motor blew in o6 got it going again in late 07 or early 06 dont remember, and it was nothing but problems since. i gave up on it, signed it over to my brother and cut my losses. it ended up getting towed from his complex. i'm not worried about it though, i have a gm and a toyota, i love my supra but my cutlass is a nuisance, so i am about to sell it and get something else. i may pick up another explorer if i can find a clean v8 for the price i want to pay.

I'm up to 201k on my '97, still my DD, wouldnt drive anything else. Original motor, trans, everything....

Did the throttle cable mod, and it will still chirp the tires:-)

209K just picked it up from a buddy, let's hope i can double that.

Howdy. I just signed up to be a member of this forum a few minutes ago.
In January (2011), I purchased a 1997 Explorer XLT 4.0 V-6 SOHC. It has 73000 miles on it. It was a one-owner private party purchase. It's very clean and been well cared for since new. It was purchased and serviced at New Holland Ford near Lancaster, PA. I will be checking in on this forum routinely. I appreciate all the good info I've read thus far.
Thanks, Ollie
