Hey everone...dont know if there is any interest in this but i just did this and thought it was kinda cool so thought id pass it along.
what: integrate the fuel filler door to your aftermarket alarm to keep people from stealing your expensive gas or otherwise contaminating it. 21st century version of the locking gas cap.
stuff needed: drill, 1/4" bit, radioshack momentary pushbutton normally closed switch, wire, tape, shrink wrap, solder, crimp connecters or however you like to connect your wires.
drill in your desired location for the swtich...i removed one of the rubber bumpers and put the switch there. wire up the switch and stick it in the hole, attaching it with the nut. run the wires into the car (i drilled through the wheel well) dont forget the grommets or something to otherwise protect the wire. run the wire up to the brain of your alarm. chose a sensor to tap into...i used the hood pin because it made the most sense to me. you might need a different type of switch if you dont use the hood pin, i dont know. tap into the wire with one side of the switch, ground the other side (that is, assuming that your alarm is set up like mine). if you have a viper alarm you can follow these instructions exactly, if you have a different alarm you might need to modify them slightly. hmm now that i look at it this really didnt need a write up but just wanted to get the idea out there incase anybody else wants to do this
