My 2013 Limited had a problem where it would not recognize the fob signals. Took to Ford for 7 hours and they can't find the problem. I got tired of paying Ford for no solutions so I decided to get an Excalibur system put in at the local audio store to bypass old system. After 6 hours of messing with it he told me he can get the lock/unlock and hatch to work but the car won't remote start unless it's in acccessory mode, which is useless because you have to be in the car to be in accessory mode.
Anyways, since I have to have my Ford fob in the emergency slot to start it I was hoping I could leave it in the slot at all times and be able to not have to open the console every time I want to start my car. When I attempt to exit my vehicle and lock it, it auto unlocks because the fob is in the emergency slot.
I know they do this to ensure the car doesn't lock you out but I was hoping there was a way around that.
Any suggestions or tricks to fool the car so I don't have to mess with the emergency slot every time I want to lock/unlock and start my car.
Long story short, I don't care about autostart as much as being able to leave key in emergency slot and be able to unlock and lock with it left in there.
