I am looking for wheels as soon as possible and I have been thinking of getting a set off of a jeep guy who is selling his. Most jeeps use a -44 to -46 offset I guess? How will this look on my explorer with my 4" or 5.5" lift?

Welcome Obsessedwithcar. :)

If they are truly Jeep wheels they will have a positive offset with over a 5" backspacing. I have a set of Cherokee wheels and they won't fit my Explorer because of the smaller hub bore.

However if they are aftermarket, they might fit. Many aftermarket wheels have less backspacing than stock and also a larger bore diameter, so the same wheel will fit several makes of vehicles.

You really should try to use only correct center bore wheels. Factory wheels fit the hub perfectly, which places all of the weight on the hub, not on the studs. If the centerbore is too large, all of the vehicle weight rides solely on the studs. Throw in some heavy duty usage, hard conering etc, and the studs may fail.

BTW, your 92 wheels have about 20mm of offset. Those 45mm offset wheels would be inboard about an inch more than stock, given the same width. Late 2002+ Explorer wheels are about 44mm of offset. Good luck,
