I was getting a sound out of my Ait Filter Housing that sounded like a street cleaning vacuum truck after I cleaned my MAS & IAC. After taking one part of the filter assembly off at a time I finally traced it to the Plenum. I reached up and plucked off the little black cap on the IAC = sound is gone.
My question is, what is this cap for and it is important to have it on? Or, if it is important, can I just put a piece of vacuum hose on it with a small filter - or something like that.
