I'm Going To Pismo!!!

ok this isn't a club run, but i will msot likely be heading out to pismo the weekend folling the 4th of july... a friend has a couple sandrails and said i should come along and also play with me truck for the weekend.... anyways, not sure if this is the right forum or not... but.... where can i get the safety flags? and where would be the best place to mount it and how on my pickup

so far only found the firestik stuff.... would i mount it with a spring like my cb? would a hood channed cb antenna mount be strong enough? should i add a quik release to it? also firestick said the flags are available seperately.. cna i also toss a flag onto the top of my cb antenna for extra visibility?

are the flagpoles the same size or mount as a cb antenna? if they are, what does everyone think of a hood channel mount? like this: (taller of course)

Jim - I don't know if the flag is the same size, but I think it is pretty close if it isn't. Also, there are adapters for CB antennas that should make the flag fit if it doesn't alerady.

You can get everything you need in town right before you get on the sand at any of those shops too. That would be a decent mounting point. You could do it on either bumper or in the corner of the bed somewhere.

i always mount mine on the rear bumper where you are supposed to put the ball hitch for a trailer

is the stuff on the www.firestik.com site good stuff? i might get it through them, prices dont seem unreasonable, and i would be able to get everything in one shot.....

I had a 5' fire stick antenna before and it worked good. If you're just getting a flag I'm sure it will be just fine.

anyone know where to order the firestik stuff other than through them or the site they list on their dealers site? i wouldnt mind ordering htrough their dealers, but i wnat to see if anyone has experience ordering through them or someone else
