As the title says, Jtsmith and I are going to put my headers on tomorrow, So I thought I would check and see if anyone wanted any specific pictures of the process?

I want to see one of Jon actually working :D

I would prefer every possible pic you can take. either that or just PM the horror stories. Depending on how bad they are, Jon can put mine in too!

Eric,

I hope you don't stand in one place too long. Jon my try & powder coat you. :D

I should be ok, I am a lot younger than him afterall. Besides if things are going well I might just keep him busy powdercoating stuff off of the mounty.

I put mine on yesterday and I LOVE them. Im posting up some pics too in another thread.

I would like to see a general step by step, Mine has a 3 in body kit and it went really easy for me, but I know it wont be as easy for those without that extra clearance.

get pics of the header to steering clearance
I am curious to see the different steering intermediate shafts and where they end up in relation to the TM headers...

on my truck that was a nighmare, the 96 with TM headers and a 3" body lift that had been neglected, the steering bolt was IN the header tube basically

Damm collector bolts--
I can get on them, but they won't budge--hrmfff:mad:

What happened to piece of cake? :p:
Just think what my 195k ones will be like

They are out:thumbsup:
-and the upper intake is off now, just need to detach the coolant lines

Wow I didnt have to take any of that off.....must be the lift makes the difference ???

What all are you having to take off?

I beleive it's because his is a "P" engine with external EGR.

My 97 is some what of an anomaly. It is clearly states 12/96 for the mfg date which is the last of the nop P engine equiped Explorers & Mountaineers but I clearly have a P engine.

Dan the 97 P engine I put in my BIi was the same way, build date is late 96, I wonder if the mercs got the P before the expo's?
Donor for my truck was a 97 Mounty

My Manufacture date is 9/96. So theres the difference....wow.

I DEFINATELY want to see pictures of the install, please.

Are they headers yet :D

passenger side is on--

We are also installing a 1" spacer in the intake--which is why it is off--
we have all of the mods ready for it to bolt back on--
