Another whoops.

It was on a dark and chilly night. The wind whipping around the truck as I pull out of the Randall's parking lot. As I get ready to make a left hand turn out of the lot, I notice a rare green light at the intersection. Gunning the engine I take the turn too fast. The rain, combined with my cheap tires, caused my rear end to break loose around the turn. I found myself staring at a grouping of trees in the median. I turned my wheels into the skid and managed to hit the tree at angle. I bounced off, did a full 180 and landed with my nose perpendicular to the street and my rear end high on the median. To top it off I lost my glasses on the jolt so I really couldn't see at all.

I'll get pics and a full damage report tomorrow. I am so glad nobody got hurt and all I damaged was the fender.

Now the door doesn't open or close properly. It might be that the hinge got stretched. I replaced the busted tire with the spare.The engine runs an apparently there is no frame damage.

ouch...sorry to hear that man.
to me it doesnt look THAT bad. all i see is a smashed up fender which can have the rivets drilled out and replaced by one from a scrap yard.
oh and that drivers side tire could use some tlc...

hahaha... rivets... there should be about 8-9 bolts holding that fender on... the ones under the hood... one in the door seem, two down under by the running boards. and one connecting it to the grille... you'll also have to remove the inner fender lining... Lets just hope you didn't bend/dent the inner structure behind the fender....

Glad to know everybody's fine after the accident.

my bad:rolleyes:...ive only ever taken the fender off one vehicle, and that happened to be a mitsubishi that used rivets. maybe i shouldnt make the assumption that all or most vehicles use them...? might as well use good ol' hook and loop! (Velcro):thumbsup:

Damn man good your alright! And at least its not a hard fix.

Glad that your okay and no one was hurt. Looks like the inner structure might have gotten bent a bit, causing the pillar the door hinges are attached to to warp a bit. But doesn't look like anything that can't be fixed.

damn that sucks at least it is just a fender and tire from what I can see

Ford= American Made Awesomeness

Mitsubishi= poop.

:D:D:D:us:

well thats not to bad, its good your ok. GL with the fix

Lucky all the damage was confined to that one fender.

my advice, take the girlle off and headlight off to get to the front 2 bolts in the fender. it'll make things *much* easier. (ive changed both fenders on mine)

I got the fender off last night and got a good look at the door which looks like it has been sprung. Hopefully I can get it back to normal by loosening the bolts on the hinges, but I am not holding my breath. The fender I picked up is just a shade lighter than the original color, YAY, but it has minor cosmetic damage, some missing paint and its from a sport.
