JD Shocks. Need advice

Hi guys,

I'm getting ready to purchase the JD 2.5 lift for 91 XLT. I need some opinions on the JD shocks that come with it. What other shock can u compare them too? Are they a softer ride or a stiff ride?
I've had monroes and rancho 5000 and didnt like either(i liked the rancho's at first but they dont last long).

If you are going to run the Dual shocks, then they are fine for the front.

If you are going to run single shocks, personally they are too soft for my liking. They will give you a cushy ride.

Personally, spend the money on some RS9000 shocks.

I just installed a JD with single shock setup in front. It's handles well, way better than stock. It is definetely not a race car, there is lot's of lean in tight corners etc. What are you looking for...road performance or off-road performance, you can't have the best of both worlds.
