I second that motion.

Did you get a dremel?a good pencil wand and a 60 flap wheel will get those intake runners nice and clean

not your fault. i didnt know what i was looking for, i was trying to 'unlock' the valve seals. lol sometimes i just need a visual.

instead of a dremel, cleaner, scrubbing, etc... how about a sandblasting?
why would you not think its a 4.0?

left #2, right #3. smaller is exhaust? bottom of those are covered in white crap

O i was just joking.you can tell me something all day but till i see it i wont understand!! Idk maybe they swapped the whole motor not just the heads?

Yea i would really hope not!!

Witch way are you try to turn the fan nut to get it off?

I'll join in:D
always love to see explorers restart after some fixing

So, looking at the truck, leaning over the header panel, you were twisting the water pump pulley to the right, and the fan nut to the left?

well then that's just messed up..

granted.. when mine finally broke loose I punched the power steering pump and got some bloody knuckles.. maybe your truck's just lookin out for you! :dunno:

Do you have a swivel extension? I think you could get that bolt out of the wp easyer

yea i have swivels. but theres not really room to to all that. i can try it ho

and ill say it again: instead of cleaner, scrubbing, etc. how about sandblasting to clean everything?

I always degrease before media blasting, but that is just me.

The blasting might drive the oily stuff in deeper. You will need to wash the intake afterwards to get all the media out.
