Well, been busy busy

I kept looking at the front bumper, then at my containers of powder, then back at the bumper. It took 2 bags of black beauty to blast it clean, but I got it to bare metal. It was by far the heaviest and most awkward thing I have hung in my oven. It took 2 people to lift while I worked the hooks. No way I could handle this one. I even had to have people move it around for my while I blasted it.

When I can load pictures you will see nicely coated rockers, black grill and black wrinkle bumper.

Corkey,

You should think about deleting and reposting the Mounty Pic. Look at the post # :D

LOL, I could not help it.:shifty_ey

the whole thing is fudged now, , i am out , ,

Well, the broken shock post drew my attention to a few things I did not like and now have to change.

Seems I need to get f 250 shock towers as these shocks are bottoming out in both directions.

I am going to look for these in the junk yard, but for now could someone please tell me if they are bolted in or riveted so I can plan the attack?

Post 12 says they are $20 each new from a dealer (p/n E5TZ 18183A ).. and post 13 says they were "bolted" on the 1997 HD f-250 he found.

I should know to speak before acting. dang the luck.

:(

I am also extending the radius arms somehow.

I really like the "Wild horse" extreme arms, not only for the price, but also the use of stock bushings. This will allow plenty of flex while retaining ride quality. Replacement bushings are cheap also.

I am kind of stuck in a rut. I absolutely need to move the radius arm bracket back to install the sliders. The sliders are going to be our step into the thing.

Meanwhile, all the new steering links and junks are still not on the truck. Once I saw where the new panhard brackets would need to go I realized it best to get all this other stuff done while it is all apart, and then locate the new brackets.

I am not going to all this effort for more flex, rather I would like better -softer ride quality and most importantly, the side step bars.

Now for the funny part.

We are going to install red neck auto steps to the slider nerf bars. I mean it doesn't get any more red neck than this

using a leather strap to secure the stirrup to the nerf bar, and a rope inside the truck to pull it in with ya, drop it out when you need to get out. The end of the rope can be tied to the seat mount post keeping it out of the mud and stuff. I am assuming the stirrup can be put under the seat.

Since the nerf bar will be 29" above the ground this is still to high of a step for my lovely bride and I. The stirrup seems ridiculous at first glance, but the more I think the more I like it.

I am telling you guys this is really getting to me. Every day we go for a country cruise with the dogs, and every day I am worse and worse from just getting in and out of the thing. For some reason this truck makes us feel younger and more free when we are in it.

So, the lovely other half said go ahead and charge the arms on the card. I need to get this rolling if we are going to Uwharrie. July is not too far off.

YeeeeeeeeeeeHaw! Never seen those before.

Those look too purpose built. I'm thinking cut a section out of an old tire, a spare sway bar link and an old seatbelt...
